Homemade Starbucks London Fog Tea Latte

- Small saucepan (for syrup)
Ingredients
- 4 tsp loose-leaf Earl Grey tea
- 1/2 tsp dried lavender buds
- 1 cup hot water (200°F/93°C)
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 tbsp homemade vanilla syrup
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 vanilla bean, split and scraped (or 1 tsp vanilla extract)
Instructions
- For the vanilla syrup: Combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Add vanilla bean (or extract), remove from heat, and let cool. Strain and store in a glass jar.
- In a tea infuser or filter, combine Earl Grey tea and lavender buds.
- Heat 1 cup of water to 200°F (93°C) and pour over the tea mixture. Steep for 3-5 minutes.
- While the tea steeps, steam the milk using a milk frother or heat it in a saucepan until hot and frothy.
- Remove the tea infuser and divide the brewed tea between two large mugs.
- Add 1 tablespoon of vanilla syrup to each mug and stir to combine.
- Slowly pour the steamed milk over the tea, holding back the foam with a spoon.
