- Spice grinder or mortar and pestle

Ingredients
- 15g medium-dark roast coffee, finely ground
- 1/2 tsp cardamom pods
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 whole cloves
- 1/4 inch fresh ginger, sliced
- 2 black peppercorns
- 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 200ml hot water (185°F/85°C)
- Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- Toast cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and peppercorns in a dry pan until fragrant (about 2 minutes)
- Grind toasted spices in a spice grinder or mortar and pestle
- Set up AeroPress in inverted position and add ground coffee and spice mixture
- Add hot water and stir gently
- Let steep for 1 minute
- While steeping, warm coconut milk and maple syrup in a small saucepan
- Attach filter, flip AeroPress onto mug, and press slowly
- Add warmed coconut milk mixture and pinch of salt
