Equipment
- Large glass jar
- Coffee grinder
- Coffee filter
- Fine-mesh strainer
- Small saucepan
- Measuring cups and spoons
Ingredients
- 1 cup coarse ground coffee (medium-dark roast)
- 2 tablespoons cacao nibs
- 4 cups filtered water
- 1 cup dark cherries (pitted)
- 1/4 cup honey
- Ice cubes for serving
- Milk or cream (optional)
Instructions
- Combine coarse ground coffee and cacao nibs in a large jar
- Add room temperature filtered water and stir gently
- Cover and steep in the refrigerator for 12 hours
- Meanwhile, make the cherry syrup by combining pitted cherries and honey in a small saucepan
- Simmer for 10 minutes, mashing cherries slightly. Let cool and strain
- Strain the cold brew through a coffee filter
- For each serving, combine 1/2 cup cold brew concentrate with 1/2 cup water
- Add 2 tablespoons cherry syrup and stir
- Serve over ice with optional milk or cream
