- Strainer
- Tall glasses
Ingredients
- 1 cup coarsely ground dark roast coffee
- 4 cups cold filtered water
- 1 cup fresh or frozen dark cherries, pitted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water (for syrup)
- 2 tablespoons cacao nibs, plus more for garnish
- Ice cubes
- Optional: whipped cream for topping
Instructions
- Combine ground coffee with 4 cups cold water in a large jar. Stir gently, cover, and refrigerate for 12 hours
- Meanwhile, make the cherry syrup: Combine cherries, sugar, and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 10 minutes
- Remove from heat, mash cherries, and strain. Let syrup cool completely
- Strain cold brew through a coffee filter or fine-mesh sieve
- For each drink, fill a tall glass with ice. Pour in 1 cup cold brew and 2-3 tablespoons cherry syrup
- Add 1 tablespoon cacao nibs and stir well
- Optional: Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with additional cacao nibs
