Iced Blueberry Black Tea Starbucks Copycat
A refreshing and fruity iced tea that's perfect for summer sipping
Welcome to a delightful twist on classic iced tea! This Iced Blueberry Black Tea is inspired by Starbucks' popular summer beverage, bringing together the bold flavors of black tea with the sweet-tart punch of ripe blueberries. The combination creates a refreshing drink that's both sophisticated and playful.
Our recipe uses high-quality loose-leaf black tea, preferably a Ceylon or Assam blend, which provides a robust base that stands up well to the fruit flavors. We infuse this with a homemade blueberry syrup, made from fresh or frozen blueberries, to capture the essence of sun-ripened berries. The result is a perfectly balanced, not-too-sweet iced tea that's bursting with natural fruit flavor and antioxidants.

Equipment
- Medium saucepan
- Small saucepan
- Fine-mesh sieve
- Large pitcher
- Glasses
Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 4 black tea bags or 4 tsp loose-leaf black tea
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water (for syrup)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh blueberries and lemon slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and add tea bags or loose-leaf tea. Steep for 5 minutes.
- While the tea is steeping, make the blueberry syrup. In a small saucepan, combine blueberries, sugar, and 1/4 cup water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Cook the blueberry mixture for about 5 minutes, or until the berries have burst and the syrup has thickened slightly. Remove from heat and strain through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing on the solids to extract as much syrup as possible. Let cool.
- Remove the tea bags or strain the loose-leaf tea. Let the tea cool to room temperature.
- In a large pitcher, combine the cooled tea and 1/4 cup of the blueberry syrup (or more to taste). Stir well.
- Fill glasses with ice and pour the blueberry tea over the ice. Garnish with fresh blueberries and lemon slices if desired. Serve and enjoy!
