Ingredients
- 4 heaping teaspoons extra finely ground dark roast coffee
- 2 cardamom pods, lightly crushed
- 2 cups cold water
- 2-4 teaspoons sugar (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon rose water
- Turkish delight for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Combine cold water and sugar (if using) in a cezve or small pot
- Add the finely ground coffee and cardamom pods (do not stir)
- Place over medium heat and watch carefully
- When coffee begins to sink and the water is warm, stir gently to combine
- As foam begins to build, remove from heat just before it boils
- Add rose water and return to heat briefly until foam rises again
- Pour slowly into cups, distributing foam evenly
- Let sit for 1-2 minutes before drinking to allow grounds to settle
