Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons extra-fine ground dark roast coffee
- 2 cups filtered water
- 1 whole vanilla bean, split and scraped
- 2 teaspoons sugar (optional)
- Nitrogen charge cartridge
Instructions
- Split vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out seeds. Add both seeds and pod to cold water.
- In a traditional cezve or small pot, combine the vanilla water and sugar (if using).
- Add the finely ground coffee to the surface of the water without stirring.
- Place over medium heat and watch carefully.
- When coffee begins to sink and bubble, remove from heat just before it boils.
- Return to heat and remove again when it starts to rise. Repeat 2-3 times.
- Let grounds settle completely, then strain carefully into a whipping siphon.
